Celebrate the Varied Landscapes by Vaughn Gray

ART makes all special occasions even more memorable. Vaughn Gray paintings are often the paintings of choice for gifts, as they capture Nova Scotia and it's varied landscapes beautifully.

Vaughn Gray has relocated back to Halifax recently, after living in Yarmouth for a number of years. His work there didn't allow much time for painting, but he is now ready to begin painting again! However, until he gets things underway, he has asked us to find great homes for a selection of his older works.  He loves painting Nova Scotian landscape- especially along the ocean. Many of these paintings  are from his home town of Yarmouth, but also include the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. Some even look as if they have been painted along a  flood plain, and make us homesick for canoing and camping in the great outdoors.

Enjoy looking at ALL of the paintings by clicking here:at this LINK

We are offering 50% off  ALL the works  until June 7th. **Call us for prices at 902-425-9456 or simply email us at gallery@argylefa.com. Most works are on high profile canvas, ready for hanging- but a few works are painted on masonite and may require framing. **

Please take a good look at the images and feel free to share this email with others you think will enjoy Vaughn's painting. These works range in sizes from 5" x 7", 6"x6", (normally $200- now $100)  8" x 8" (normally $375 now $187.50)  and so on...

EVERYONE would recognise the sound of a skunk, a beaver, and a porcupine.. right?!

You can tell instantly by looking at this wee fella in the eyes, what his distinct, unmistakably porcupine-like sound would be...

Can you hear that? Yes.. there he goes, making his porcupiney noizes..

And this little guy here - no mistaking the sound of a genuine skunk!

such a familiar tune he sings..

and that clearly Canadian voice that can only come from a beaver! Say it with me now! ... ... ...

These new folk art pieces are carved by the wonderful Peter Rafuse, and they're squawking, honking, or whatever it is that they do, in our front windows for everyone to enjoy. Keep your eyes peeled for a sheep and a few chickens too!

Twila Robar-Decoste : Nova Scotian Botanical Paintings

Botanical Artists of Nova Scotia Association President, Twila Robar-Decoste has opened her latest exhibit titled "Bloom" at Argyle Fine Art. Her meticulous and exacting depictions of local flora are exquisite, and  highlight a style of artwork made popular in the 1700's. Twila's approach is both scientific and artistic, with two degrees in mycology from Acadia University (where she created carefully rendered drawings to document specimen) paired with a lifelong study in art.

Twila's exhibition can be seen alongside works created by the graduating class of the NSCAD ceramics department. The botanical paintings can also be seen here :https://www.flickr.com/photos/62710153@N03/sets/72157629904839645/
