NEW GROUP SHOW OPPORTUNITY:

I’d Rather be Home in My Sweatpants…

Ever since COVID it’s been more and more challenging for many of us to find the motivation to GO SOME WHERE, get together with friends etc. Sometimes “It’s so much easier to just stay home in your sweatpants.” From these thoughts, the idea for a unique group art show hatched! We are inviting artists to submit your creative responses to the statement: I’d Rather be Home in My Sweatpants. We are open to a variety of mediums for this exhibit and welcome fine art craft too. All mediums will be considered. We are hoping for smaller works that are more affordable for people to purchase this time of year (-paintings no larger than 36” x 48”).

Ideas: Paintings or drawings that emit feelings of being cozy and comfy, home-life, the mundane that can be comforting, the views from your home (ie. interior paintings of your living room or kitchen, looking out a window)! This could also include patches, ceramics or glassware (functional and beautiful), pins, stickers, home décor items (mats, knitted or crocheted items(plants), lamps, wearable items, paintings inspired by your favourite video game or toy/game ,wood carvings- both artistic and functional, snack food paintings or textile pieces….the ideas are endless! Find your unique take on this!

We hope this show can be a colourful, fun, beautiful mid-winter/spring boost for folks to begin to re-engage and re-emerge! Don’t worry, you can still wear your sweatpants! (ps – for the opening we will encourage folks to do just that!)
